The UCSD Anxiety & Traumatic Stress Disorders Research Program has a number of on-going research studies actively recruiting participants with and without anxiety disorders.
Military Family Study of PTSD We are currently enrolling veterans and active duty military personnel who have (1) returned from Iraq or Afghanistan AND (2) have at least one child age 6 or older. Researchers are investigating family adjustment following OIF/OEF deployment. Servicemen with combat PTSD are eligible. Participants without PTSD will also be recruited for study. Randomized Controlled Trial of Hydrocortisone is a medication treatment study for PTSD. Symptoms can include nightmares, flashbacks, sleep difficulties, feeling on edge, and difficulty concentrating. Researchers in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSD are investigating new treatments for individuals suffering from these symptoms. You must be between the ages of 18 and 65, otherwise in good health, and not currently receiving therapy--although use of antidepressant medication is permitted. Other eligibility criteria apply.
